It's cherry blossom season, which to the uninformed resembles a composition of the following: crazy weekend traffic on any road leading to the District within a 3 mile radius, tourists everywhere doing all the things that both amuse you and drive you batty, and the most gorgeous blooms that make up for all the crazy you experience in trying to catch a glimpse of them. It's like a yin yang thing. You can't have cherry blossoms without the chaos and yet somehow you're at peace with that.
Anyway, the majority of our weekend was full of cherry blossom-related activities: lots of walking, picture taking, people watching, and picnic blanket sitting. It was pretty perfect. Even the weather must have comprehended the stakes of peak bloom falling on a Saturday because it was truly a glorious spring weekend.
So please let me continue to inundate you with pictures so you too can feel like you were there amongst the blooms (and masses)!
As you can tell we dropped by at least three different times. To say we love the cherry blossoms may be an understatement. But can you really blame us?
